Abstract: The disclosed is switchgear 100 to control operation of an electric circuit can include a two stage mechanism 200; a contact driving assembly 204; and a two segments contact assembly 102. The two stage mechanism 200 including a first stage mechanism 202-A having a compression spring 304 and the second stage mechanism 202-B having a cam spring 306 to rotate moving contacts 302 of the switchgear 100 such that when the two stage mechanism 200 actuated by a user by moving a vertical handle 104 integrated with the two stage mechanism 200 of the switchgear 100 from a dead centre to at least one from ON position 108 and OFF position 110, results the rotation of vertical rotor 112 simultaneously with a pair of horizontal rotor pins 208 through a gear arrangement, to charge the springs 304/306 and drive the contact driving assembly 204 to perform ON and OFF operation of the switchgear 100 respectively.
