The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a radio unit (RU) may synchronize a clock to a local synchronization source. The RU may send, to a distributed unit (DU), a notification to switch to a synchronization topology that includes the DU in a synchronization chain based at least in part on losing synchronization between the clock and the local synchronization source. The RU may receive timing information from the DU responsive to the notification. The RU may synchronize the clock to the timing information received from the DU. Numerous other aspects are described.
