MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611068177 A) filed by Sharda University on May 31, 2026, for Synergistic Polyherbal Anti-Dandruff Hair Gel Composition.
Inventors include Dr. Ambika Nand Jha; Dr. Ravi Kumar Mittal; Dr. Sakshi Tyagi; and Varsha Gaikwad.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: Abstract Disclosed is a synergistic polyherbal anti-dandruff hair gel composition comprising guava extract, tulsi extract, hibiscus extract, aloe vera extract, a gel-forming polymer, a humectant, a preservative system, a pH adjusting agent, and an aqueous vehicle. The guava extract, tulsi extract, hibiscus extract, and aloe vera extract are dispersed together in a gel base formed by the gel-forming polymer and the aqueous vehicle for topical scalp application against dandruff-associated microorganisms. The composition provides a plant-based gel formulation in which the herbal extracts are retained in a scalp-applicable form. The combined herbal extracts provide synergistic antimicrobial activity greater than the individual extracts when tested separately. The composition may include selected extract quantities, gel-forming polymer amounts, humectant and preservative amounts, and pH adjustment to provide suitable consistency, spreadability, and antimicrobial activity for dandruff-associated scalp care.
