Abstract: A method (700) for estimating the effectiveness of a traffic safety intervention using a machine learning (ML) model. The method (700) includes obtaining historical accident data comprising a plurality of parameters. Further, the method (700) includes training the ML model to predict one or more first injury outcomes based on the plurality of parameters. Further, the method (700) includes generating a simulated dataset based on altering one or more first parameters among the plurality of parameters to simulate the traffic safety intervention, while retaining other parameters among the plurality of parameters unchanged. Furthermore, the method (700) includes predicting the one or more injury outcomes for each of a one or more simulated entries in the simulated dataset. Furthermore, the method (700) includes determining an effectiveness score based on a correlation between predicted one or more injury outcomes and the one or more injury outcomes of the historical accident data.
