MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411101183 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group AG on December 20, 2024, for System And Method For Adjusting A Display Unit Based On Visual Orientation Of A User.

Inventors include Lellapalli Raghavendra Dakshinamurthy; Harikumar Payyoor; Deepanraj Govindaraj; Balaji Pillai; and Pran Venukumar.

The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system (102) and a method (500) for adjusting display unit based on visual orientation of user. The method (500) includes receiving (502) image frames of user and determining (504) parameters of user. Further, the method (500) includes determining (506) that FoV of user is focused toward display unit and determining (508) that coordinate information of visual orientation is not parallel to coordinate information of display unit using a pre-trained Artificial Intelligence (AI) model that is pre-trained by splitting features extracted from image frames into parallel channels to estimate factors. Further, the method (500) includes adjusting (510) display unit to align parallel to visual orientation. Therefore, the present disclosure eliminates the need for manual adjustment of display unit, enhancing a user experience by providing an automatic, real-time alignment based on a head and eye gaze orientation of the user.
