MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641087178 A) filed by Santhosh Gattu; and Lavanya on July 16, 2026, for System And Method For Aerodynamic Wake Flow Control And Drag Reduction In Vehicle.
Inventor includes Santhosh Gattu.
The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a system for aerodynamic wake flow control and drag reduction in a vehicle. The system includes a spoiler assembly configured to be mounted proximate to a rear end of the vehicle. The spoiler assembly includes multiple vortex-generator shaped fins configured to condition airflow, a first groove configured to receive and redirect airflow toward wake region, airflow exiting the first groove is referred to as a first boundary layer, second groove configured to receive and redirect airflow toward the wake region, airflow exiting the second groove is referred to as a second boundary layer, and an extension structure configured to guide the conditioned airflow including first boundary layer and the second boundary layer toward wake region. The first boundary layer facilitates wake cutting, second boundary layer facilitates wake compression, and the spoiler assembly modifies wake-flow characteristics to reduce aerodynamic drag during vehicle operation. FIG. 2 and FIG.3.
