Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC EVALUATION OF DESCRIPTIVE ANSWERS AND GENERATION OF QUESTION-ANSWER PAIRS The present disclosure relates to a system (100) for automatic evaluation of descriptive answers and generation of question-answer pairs. The system (100) comprises a data acquisition module 102 to collect and preprocess student responses and educational content. The descriptive answer evaluation module (104) uses SBERT, Distil-BERT, and DeBERTa models to compute semantic similarity, extract and score keywords, and assess grammar accuracy. These scores are aggregated using a regression model module (106) to produce a final evaluation score. The question-answer pair generation module (108) extracts content from documents, retrieves relevant information via a RAG framework, and generates diverse question types using a Llama-2-13b-chat model further, the user interface module (110) enables students to submit answers, receive feedback, and allows educators to access performance insights.
