Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for automatic grocery inventory monitoring and replenishment. The system comprises one or more smart grocery containers provided with infrared sensing assemblies configured to detect inventory levels of grocery products stored therein. A processing unit determines inventory status conditions based on signals received from the infrared sensing assemblies and generates inventory-related information. The inventory-related information is transmitted through a wireless communication module to a hub device and subsequently to a cloud-based processing platform. The cloud platform analyses inventory data using inventory analytics and replenishment engines to determine depletion conditions and replenishment requirements. Upon detection of a predefined low-stock condition, the cloud platform automatically generates a reorder recommendation and a ready-to-confirm reorder request, which is communicated to a user application. The system further facilitates retailer selection, order routing and fulfilment operations. The invention provides automated grocery monitoring, reduced manual intervention, improved inventory visibility and efficient replenishment management through an integrated smart grocery ecosystem.
