The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method for autonomous navigation of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operating in GNSS-challenged environments. The method includes detecting magnetic-field vectors, linear acceleration, and angular velocity using at least one onboard Magnetic-Angular-Rate-Gravity (MARG) sensor and detecting additional inertial measurements using a mechanically isolated auxiliary inertial measurement unit. Control input signals from a flight controller are recorded and applied to a dynamic motion model to determine a current UAV state. A noise component in the IMU data is estimated using a noise model based on a relationship between the control input signals and a predetermined state estimate, and noise-compensated IMU data is generated. The noise-compensated IMU data and MARG data are processed in an attitude and heading reference system (AHRS) to obtain corrected roll, pitch, and yaw angles. A sensor-fusion filtering process updates the UAV state estimate.
