MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641092249 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on July 29, 2026, for System And Method For Blood Group Prediction And Coordination.
Inventors include Rishikkesh R; Raghul Krishna; and Prabha B.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: A blood group prediction and coordination system (100) and method (400) is disclosed. A fingerprint processing unit (106) receives a fingerprint image and processes the fingerprint image through a residual neural network-based deep learning model to output a predicted blood group with an associated confidence score. A confidence validation unit (108) evaluates the confidence score against a predefined threshold and flags predictions below the threshold prior to initiating a coordination workflow. A blood coordination unit (110) receives a blood request, identifies eligible donors and blood banks through geolocation-based matching, and transmits real-time notifications to facilitate emergency blood allocation. A model adaptation unit (112) fine-tunes model parameters of the residual neural network-based deep learning model using verified laboratory-confirmed blood group records. The fine-tuned model is utilized by the fingerprint processing unit (106) for subsequent blood group prediction.
