Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CAUSALLY VERIFIED COGNITIVE AND BEHAVIORAL SUPPORT IN AUTISM The present disclosure relates to a system and process that provides causally-verified cognitive and behavioral assistance to individuals with autism. Data that pertain to the physiology, behavior, and environment of an individual are sensed and processed to identify a potential cognitive, emotional or behavioral state of the individual. Where there is uncertainty or a discrepancy in the results of the sensing by different sensing modes, the system produces two or more hypotheses corresponding to the candidate state as well as one or more alternative states. One or more reversible interventions are performed for the verification of the hypotheses. The response data gathered following the interventions are used to validate the candidate state of the individual. Depending on the result of the validation, the system provides, modifies, suppresses, or escalates any cognitive, communicative, sensory regulation, emotional regulation, or behavioral interventions.
