Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a system (100) and method (200) for classifying a mental health condition based on multimodal data. The system (100) includes a data acquisition unit (102), a processor (120) and a memory (130). The memory (130) stores instructions which when executed by the processors (120) cause the system (100) to process the input data by a preprocessing unit (104). Individual predictions are generated based on the processed data by a model processing unit (106). The individual predictions are combined using weighted aggregation to generate a final classification output by an ensemble unit (108). Feature attribution information is generated corresponding to the final classification output by an explainability unit (110). An output report including classification output and associated explanation information is generated by a reporting unit (112). The system (100) is configured to classify the input data into at least two emotional or psychological states.
