Abstract: Described herein is a system (100) and method for confirming door locking in a vehicle. The system (100) comprises a door latch unit (104) linked to the door (300A) of a vehicle (300), configured to produce a first positive status signal when the door is locked or fully closed, and a first negative status signal when the door is unlocked or open. A door switch unit (106) is positioned in the vehicle's body portion such that it remains in contact with the door latch unit (104) when the door is locked or fully closed, generating a second positive status signal upon contact. The system (100) also comprises a control unit (102) that communicates with both the door latch and door switch units. The control unit (102), equipped with processors (102-1) and memory (102-2), monitors the signals from both units. Upon detecting the first positive status signal from the latch and the second positive signal from the switch, the control unit (102) generates a door locking confirmation signal.
