MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641127045 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on October 25, 2026, for System And Method For Context-Aware Autonomous Selection And Self-Verified Application.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a system (130) and method for maintaining the fidelity of a digital twin (104) of a physical asset (100). A residual between sensor measurements and twin predictions (106) is classified as bias drift, step change, cyclical pattern or noise, with a confidence (108). The classification, its confidence and the lifecycle stage of the asset (110) form a context vector (112). A confidence-gated tier selector (114) restricts, flags or permits committed corrections, and a contextual bandit (116) selects among strategies such as no action, incremental nudge, targeted parameter patch and full retrain. The correction is applied with lifecycle- scaled, bounded magnitude (118). For a committed correction, a watchdog (120) stores a snapshot, waits a set number of cycles, re-measures the residual and confirms the correction or autonomously reverts it, rewarding the bandit, and marks the outcome inconclusive when a different drift type is confidently diagnosed meanwhile.
