MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611061352 A) filed by Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur on May 14, 2026, for System And Method For Context-Switch Prediction And Hardware Resource Management In Wearable Devices.

Inventors include Prerna Pandey; and N Swetapadma Rout.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a system (100) and method for pre-emptive context-switch prediction and hardware resource management in wearable devices. The system (100) comprises a wearable device (102) configured to acquire physiological, motion, and environmental data and a controller (104) comprising a processing unit (104a) and a storage unit (104b). The processing unit (104a) preprocesses sensor data, extracts precursor features, computes transition probabilities using a prediction model, and generates pre-emptive hardware reconfiguration instructions when a predefined threshold is exceeded. The system adjusts processor clock frequency, sensor sampling rates, and peripheral activation states in advance of activity transitions. The invention further provides a method (200) for acquiring sensor data, analysing precursor signals, predicting future context states, and adjusting hardware parameters to improve tracking accuracy, reduce latency, and optimize battery consumption in wearable devices.
