Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system 102 and a method 400 for controlling a trunk lid of a vehicle. The method 400 includes receiving 402 parameters and fetching 404 attributes and factors for determining 406 a velocity of the vehicle along a route. Further, the method 400 includes determining 408 a position of obstacles along the route with respect to the vehicle based on the parameters and the velocity of the vehicle and determining 410 that the vehicle is stationary corresponding to the position of the obstacles. Furthermore, the method 400 includes predicting 412 whether the trunk lid overlaps with the obstacles when the trunk lid is in an open state and controlling 414 an opening angle of the trunk lid. Therefore, the present disclosure eliminates the risk of damage by ensuring the trunk lid opens at a safe angle based on the detected obstacles.
