MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631124936 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology, Patna on October 19, 2026, for System And Method For Dc-Link Voltage Regulation Of A Four-Switch Three-Phase Bldc Motor Drive.

Inventors include Patel, Amit; and Penthia, Trilochan.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method for dc-link voltage regulation of a four-switch three-phase BLDC motor drive. The system comprises an INC MPPT controller (102) which controls the Zeta converter (103) to extract maximum power from the PV array (101) and deliver the extracted power to the DC link (104). A PI controller (105) generates a reference motor current (203) based on a measured DC-link voltage and a reference DC-link voltage (201). The Hall position sensors (106) and a Hall decoder (107) determine a commutation state. Current sensors (110) sense second and third stator-phase currents, and a motor current control unit (108) generates PWM switching signals using hysteresis current control. The first stator-phase current is indirectly controlled, thereby maintaining DC-link voltage and reducing commutation current and torque ripple under varying solar irradiance and temperature. (
