MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641126786 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on October 24, 2026, for System And Method For Detecting Machine-Readable While Being Imperceptible To A Human Text In Scanned Documents.
Inventors include R. Rathi; Santhosh K R; Sanjay G; and Vignesh N.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: Embodiments herein provide a document verification system (112) for detecting machine-readable while being imperceptible to a human text in a scanned document. The system obtains a first OCR output from a scanned document image, applies a human visual perception model based on perception parameters to generate a perceptually filtered document, and obtains a second OCR output from the perceptually filtered document. The system compares the first and second OCR outputs to identify textual content present in the first OCR output and absent from the second OCR output, thereby detecting machine-readable while being imperceptible to a human observer textual content. The detected textual content is evaluated according to predefined security criteria to determine a security risk, and the scanned document is prevented from being provided to a downstream automated document-processing system (120) when suspicious textual content is detected.
