Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a system (100) and method (300) for detecting manipulated digital content. The system (100) may include a data acquisition unit (102), a preprocessing unit (104), a feature extraction unit (106), a multi-modal fusion unit (108), a metadata analysis unit (110), an authenticity scoring unit (112), an output unit (114). Extracted features are combined from multiple data modalities to identify inconsistencies associated with manipulated digital content by a multi-modal fusion unit (108). The metadata associated with the digital content is analyzed to detect anomalies or editing traces by a metadata analysis unit (110). An authenticity score is generated based on outputs from the feature extraction unit (106), the multi-modal fusion unit (108), and the metadata analysis unit (110) by an authenticity scoring unit (112). An authenticity classification is generated indicating whether the digital content is authentic, suspicious, or manipulated by an output unit (114).
