Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system (100) and method (200) for detecting one or more analytes in a sample using near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy. The system (100) includes a light source (102), a focusing unit (104), an optical waveguide (106), a positioning unit (108), a detector and a processing unit (112). The light source (102) is configured to emit broadband optical radiation. The focusing unit (104) is configured to direct the optical radiation. The optical waveguide (106) includes a sensing region configured to interact with a sample (114). The positioning unit (108) is configured to align the optical waveguide (106) relative to the light source (102) and the sample (114). The detector includes a near-infrared spectrometer (110) configured to receive optical signals from the optical waveguide (106) and generate spectral data. The processing unit (112) is configured to determine presence or concentration of the analyte based on changes in absorbance.
