MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411097019 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group AG on December 09, 2024, for System And Method For Determining Physilogical Vital Metric Of A User In A Vehicle.

Inventor includes Prateek Singh.

The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system (100) and method (300) for determining physiological vital metrics of a user (104) in a vehicle (102). The system (100) determines the physiological vital metrics of the user (104) based on remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) signals generated by a semi-supervised machine learning model (SSMLM). The SSMLM generates the rPPG signals based on spatial features and temporal features extracted from facial video data captured by a sensor assembly (110). The SSMLM includes separate layers for spatial and temporal feature extraction. Further, the SSMLM is trained with semi-supervised learning, which reduces the dependence on large amounts of labeled training data and the challenges associated with synchronizing labels with video data.
