Abstract: ABSTRACT The present disclosure relates to electrochemical detection of controlled substances in biological fluids. The system (100) includes a potentiostat circuit (104) that applies a square wave voltammetric waveform to a plurality of working electrodes (106), each functionalized with nucleic acid aptamer molecules specific to a target controlled substance class and incorporating a redox-active label. A hardware processor (102) receives electrical current measurements from the working electrodes (106) during forward and reverse waveform phases, computing differential current values at each potential step to generate a voltammogram. The differential approach rejects capacitive charging currents arising from the biological matrix. The hardware processor (102) identifies peak current magnitudes from the voltammogram, compares them against pre-stored calibration data, and determines controlled substance concentrations. From a single biological fluid sample application, the system (100) concurrently determines concentrations across all working electrodes (106), enabling simultaneous multi-substance detection with enhanced selectivity and sensitivity.
