MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411097014 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group AG on December 09, 2024, for System And Method For Enabling Artificial Intelligence (ai)-Based Auto-Assembly Of Vehicle Components.
Inventors include Anbalagan Venkatachalam; Sriram Mutalik; Leela Praveen Botsa; Deepak Sukhasare; Muthukumar Kochadai; Omprakash Bansal; and Dipanwita Bhaumik.
The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system (102) and a method (500) for enabling an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based auto-assembly of vehicle components. System (102) includes a controller (104) to extract transformation matrix of at least one Computer Aided Design (CAD) component data from a CAD assembly unit (106). Controller (104) identifies at least one contact face of each CAD component. Controller (104) identifies component pairs based on contact face of each CAD component to be coupled with each other based on one or more contact face geometries. Controller (104) encodes contact face based on one or more parameters to generate a graph comprising nodes and edges. Controller (104) processes graph and generates embeddings for the nodes and edges. Controller (104) automatically computes relative transformation matrix based on embeddings and the contact face, and enable the AI-based auto-assembly of the component pairs of vehicle components.
