Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method to validate fairness, authenticity, and integrity of a candidate’s attempt in computer-based examinations through artificial intelligence–driven analysis of candidate-generated rough work followed by manual review. The system operates as an independent integrity layer beyond conventional camera-based proctoring by analysing scanned, imaged, or digitally generated rough work, including handwritten calculations and system-generated logs. An AI engine interprets reasoning steps, evaluates logical flow, detects inconsistencies, correlates rough work with question complexity, aligns timestamps with answer submission, and identifies anomalies relative to expected solution paths. The AI-generated assessment is further reviewed through human investigation to improve accuracy and reduce false positives. By correlating rough work with submitted answers, the invention verifies genuine cognitive engagement and creates an auditable evidence trail for post-examination validation. The invention provides a scalable, reliable, and complementary integrity mechanism for remote and digital assessment environments.
