The method (1000) includes positioning a virtual sphere (702) within the generated 3D representation of the real-world scene, includes estimating a coarse light map (802) of the real-world scene on the virtual sphere (702), and generating at least one 2D image corresponding to the virtual sphere (702) with the generated coarse light map (802). The method (1000) includes estimating an enhanced virtual sphere (902) by operating the at least one generated 2D image based on a pre-trained diffusion model (906) and lastly, estimating the light map of the real-world scene based on the enhanced virtual sphere (902).
