MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641087252 A) filed by Pes University on July 16, 2026, for System And Method For Generating Pre-Ictal Seizure Indications Using Wearable Electroencephalography.

Inventors include Shreya Ganjigatte Srinivas; Abinaya Sasikumar; and Reshma S V.

The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: An epileptic seizure prediction system (100), method (200), and wearable device (102) are disclosed for generating indications of impending focal non-motor epileptic seizures using ambulatory electroencephalography (EEG) signals acquired from a minimal behind-the-ear electrode configuration. The system (100) includes at least two EEG electrodes (104), a memory (108), and one or more processors (110) configured to process EEG signals and apply a trained seizure prediction model to identify pre-ictal neurological activity associated with focal aware seizures (FAS) and focal impaired awareness seizures (FIAS). The disclosed technology facilitates generation of seizure likelihood information and advance seizure-related indications prior to seizure onset. The system (100) is suitable for continuous ambulatory monitoring, wearable neurological applications, remote patient monitoring, and epilepsy management environments. The disclosed system (100) further supports subject-independent seizure prediction and improved usability of wearable EEG monitoring platforms for long-duration neurological surveillance and patient safety applications.
