MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621066876 A) filed by Sage University on May 27, 2026, for System And Method For Glucose Monitoring In Laboratory-Scale Bioreactors.

Abstract: ABSTRACT The present disclosure relates to autonomous wireless glucose monitoring in laboratory-scale bioreactors. The system (100) includes a first near-infrared light-emitting diode (102) and a second near-infrared light-emitting diode (104). A photodetector (106) receives transmitted radiation from both diodes through cell culture medium and the system includes a temperature sensor (110). A control circuit (108) select a first wavelength and a second wavelength from a wavelength calibration table based on temperature measured by the temperature sensor (110), activates the diodes at respective selected wavelengths. The control circuit (108) computes glucose concentration from a ratio of intensity measurements at the selected wavelengths. The temperature-based wavelength selection maintains differential glucose absorption and the ratio cancels drift from protein deposits accumulating between each of the first near-infrared light-emitting diode (102) and the second near- infrared light-emitting diode (104) to the photodetector (106), enabling glucose monitoring without field calibration.
