MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641085429 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on July 13, 2026, for System And Method For Hardware-Validated Carbon Footprint Monitoring And Energy Optimization.
Inventors include Dr. V. Sivakumar; and Sanjai B N.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: A hardware-validated carbon footprint monitoring and energy optimization system (100) and method are disclosed. The system (100) comprises a distributed data acquisition layer configured to collect energy-consumption data and environmental telemetry from sensing devices, a user interface configured to receive behavioral data, and a validation engine configured to authenticate the behavioral data using physical infrastructure interaction records. A centralized database stores authenticated behavioral data and environmental telemetry, while an analytical processing module evaluates the stored information to generate optimization parameters. An infrastructure control interface communicates control instructions to an infrastructure management system based on the optimization parameters. The validation engine performs cross-verification between behavioral data and infrastructure interaction records to determine authenticity prior to storage and analysis. The system (100) further operates in a closed-loop architecture wherein infrastructure responses are monitored and utilized for subsequent optimization. The invention provides authenticated environmental monitoring integrated with automated infrastructure control within a unified cyber-physical framework.
