Abstract: SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LOW POWER WAKE-UP SIGNALING IN SIDELINK RELAY DEVICES Abstract The present invention provides a method for supporting Low Power Wake-Up Signal (LP-WUS) operation in a sidelink relay device to enhance power efficiency while ensuring reliable paging for remote user equipment (UEs). The method includes establishing an association between a relay UE and at least one remote UE, where the relay UE supports LP-WUS functionality. The relay UE indicates its LP-WUS support to the remote UE and receives an indication of the remote UE’s LP-WUS support status. If the remote UE does not support LP-WUS, the relay UE requests LP-WUS identifiers from a network node for monitoring wake-up signals on behalf of the remote UE. The relay UE monitors LP-WUS occasions for both itself and the remote UE, activating its main radio only upon detecting a relevant wake-up indication. This method significantly reduces power consumption at the relay UE while maintaining seamless paging functionality for associated remote UEs. Figure 3 (publication).
