MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421097751 A) filed by Tata Motors Limited on December 11, 2024, for System And Method For Maintaining Constant Engine Speed Of Generator In Overload And Underload Conditions.
Inventors include Vivek M Kolhe; Pragya Mishra; and Vishal Palkar.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT “SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MAINTAINING CONSTANT ENGINE SPEED OF GENERATOR IN OVERLOAD AND UNDERLOAD CONDITIONS” Present disclosure discloses a system (100) for maintaining 5 constant speed of an engine (201) of a generator set (200) in overload and underload conditions. The system includes a sensor (102) associated with the engine to determine the speed of the engine and an actuator (104) rotatably coupled to a rotating component (204) of the engine to selectively engage and disengage with the rotating component. The system includes a control unit (106) 10 communicatively coupled to the sensor and the actuator. The control unit receives a signal from the sensor corresponding to the engine speed to determine at least one of the overload condition and the underload condition. The control unit activates the actuator to perform at least one of providing predefined torque to engine, based on determined overload condition, and absorbing predefined torque of engine, based on determined underload condition to regulate the engine 15 speed for maintaining constant speed.
