Abstract: A system (108) and a method (500) for managing at least one connection in a network (106) is described. A network function (110) communicates at least one first session create request towards a network entity (112) on receiving at least one request from a user equipment (104). At least one create session request having a tunnel endpoint identifier (TEID) is communicated from the network entity by the NF. The received TEID is validated based on a set of validation rules by the network entity (402). Based on the validation of the TEID, the network entity communicates at least one create session response to the NF. Upon receiving the create session response by the NF, the NF (308) terminates at least one stale session attached to the TEID and transmits a trigger message to the UE for detaching/re-attaching with the network entity by the NF. fig.5
