MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521014549 A) filed by Vijaykumar Kisanrao Wakchaure on April 20, 2025, for System And Method For Monitoring Structural Health Of A Structure Using Distributed Sensing.
Inventor includes Vijaykumar Kisanrao Wakchaure.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring structural health of a structure are disclosed. The system includes at least one distributed sensing element deployed along substantially an entire length of the structure, a measurement interface configured to process a sensing signal to obtain spatially resolved frequency-domain data including frequency shift, and at least one processor. The processor determines strain from the frequency-domain data and derives a plurality of structural health parameters by using strain as a primary parameter and correlating the strain with at least one secondary parameter. The derived parameters include at least one of displacement, velocity, acceleration, bending, crack formation, and metal loss. Structural anomalies are identified based on variations in the derived parameters relative to baseline structural conditions. The system enables distributed monitoring of structural behavior along the structure using limited sensing inputs.
