MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611108950 A) filed by Graphic Era Deemed To Be University on September 10, 2026, for System And Method For Multi-Microgrid Load Frequency Control.

Inventors include Vinay Pratap Singh; Akhilesh Mathur; and Ankit Bhatt.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a multi-microgrid load frequency control system (100) comprising a plurality of interconnected microgrids (101, 102), each comprising renewable generation sources, synchronous generation, energy storage systems and an aggregate electric vehicle resource (109, 119), wherein the microgrids (101, 102) are interconnected through a tie-line (112). A secondary control arrangement (130) receives frequency deviation and tie-line power deviation signals and regulates the synchronous generation using a Tilt-Integral-Derivative (TID) controller (132), parameters of which are optimized by an Atom Search Optimization (ASO) arrangement (140) using an Integral of Time multiplied Squared Error (ITSE) objective function (142). The aggregate electric vehicle resources (109, 119) are selectively enabled for vehicle-to-grid charging or discharging according to state-of-charge eligibility and total controllable energy determined by a Total Energy Model (163), wherein the total controllable energy is dynamically determined based on electric vehicles plugging into and plugging out of the aggregate electric vehicle resources and corresponding energy changes. The coordinated control system (100) provides frequency regulation and power balancing in response to generation and load variations.
