Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MULTI-ZONE OVERHEATING INDICATION IN ELECTRIC VEHICLE BATTERY PACKS The present invention relates to a system and method for multi-zone overheating indication in an electric vehicle battery pack. Temperature sensors distributed across respective battery-pack zones provide sequential thermal measurements to a signal-conditioning circuit and processor. The processor determines a temperature rate-of-change for each zone and evaluates both measured temperature and rate-of-change with respect to a stored thermal threshold profile. A warning or critical condition is confirmed only after a persistence criterion is satisfied, thereby reducing response to isolated thermal or electrical transients. Confirmed zone states are assigned staged normal, warning, or critical levels. A digital display, multi-level visual indicator, and audible alarm provide local indication, while a communication module transmits zone-specific thermal information. Upon a confirmed critical state, a relay or protective output interface is actuated for use by a battery management system or vehicle controller.
