Abstract: A system 100 for stall prevention in open loop stepper motor 102 may include a load torque 122 measurement assembly 104 configured to measure torque applied to the motor shaft; and a microcontroller 106 including plurality of modules, at least one database, one or more processors to determine available torque from a pre-characterized multi-dimensional torque speed model 108; compute real-time torque margin equals to difference between available torque and measured load torque 122; monitor the rate of change of the torque margin; and apply progressive corrective control signals to prevent loss of synchronism when real time torque margin or rate of change of the torque margin exceeds a threshold condition.
