Abstract: ABSTRACT System and Method for Privacy-Preserving Consumer Behaviour and Market Trend Prediction Using Causal Transition Graphs and Adaptive Signal Acquisition The present disclosure relates to a system and method for predicting consumer behavior and market trends using causal transition analysis and adaptive signal acquisition. The system receives heterogeneous interaction, transaction, inventory, logistics, sensor and contextual signals from distributed sources. A processor implements an event integrity validator, a temporal inconsistency corrector and a converter of verified signals into privacy-preserving behavioural representations. The processor builds time-varying causal transition graphs, detects persistent behavioural changes and tests detected changes under counterfactual contextual conditions. A drift-localisation engine allows for selective adaptation of a model by finding an affected signal source or model component. An uncertainty-calibrated prediction engine determines a trend prediction and a corresponding confidence . An adaptive observation controller can adapt the sensor-sampling frequency, signal-compression level, transmission priority, memory-retention duration, or edge-processing allocation based on the uncertainty. The disclosed closed-loop architecture improves prediction reliability while reducing redundant acquisition, network traffic, storage consumption, processing load, retraining latency, privacy exposure and energy utilisation across distributed computing environments. .
