MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541044784 A) filed by Ms Green Carbon Fuels & Feeds Private Limited on May 08, 2025, for System And Method For Producing Solid Fuel Substitute (circular Coal) From Waste Plastics.

Inventor includes Joseph Surendra Vardhan Thumati.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: 7. ABSTRACT The present invention provides a method for producing a solid fuel substitute, namely circular coal lumps, from non-recyclable plastic waste. The method includes feeding baled or compressed plastic waste into a rotating reactor (1), heating the reactor (1) to a temperature between 200°C and 250°C to initiate thermal decomposition, and channeling the resulting flue gases into a cyclone separator (8) for particulate removal before discharging them through a chimney. After decomposition, the reactor (1) undergoes natural cooling to promote agglomeration of residues into solid circular coal lumps, which are collected as the final fuel product. In the event of gasification, a safety system comprising a primary receiver tank (2), condenser (3), secondary receiver tanks (4), cooling tower (5), cooling tower sump (6), and circulating pump (7) is activated to collect, condense, and manage the gases, ensuring operational safety and environmental protection.
