MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511125344 A) filed by Kumar, Satish; and Anu Preet on December 11, 2025, for System And Method For Production Of Hydrogen-Enriched Fuel Gas Using Steam And Heated Oil.

Inventors include Kumar, Satish; and Anu Preet.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: A system (100) and method (200) for production of hydrogen-enriched gas are disclosed. The system (100) includes a first container (102) configured to generate steam from a water source by applying heat from a first heat source (116a). The generated steam is directed through a metal pipe (106) into a second container (104) housing a volume of hydrocarbon oil maintained at a temperature of, for example, 150°C to 200°C. Within the second container (104), the steam undergoes a reforming and cracking reaction with the heated oil to produce a first product stream including hydrogen gas and oil vapors. To facilitate immediate ignition, an injector (112) mixes a predetermined fraction of volatile fuel vapor from a fuel tank (110) with the first product stream. The system (100) generates gas that is immediately combustible, thereby offering a safe, low-cost, and versatile alternative to conventional hydrogen storage and distribution solutions.
