Abstract: An artificial intelligence (AI)-based smart food quality and safety inspection system (100) for real-time, non-destructive assessment of food samples is disclosed. The system comprises a sample presentation module (101) with automated feeding (101a) and environmental control (101b), and a multi-modal sensing module (102) including spectroscopic (102a), optical imaging (102b), and at least one of electrochemical (102c) or VOC sensors (102d). An AI processing unit (103) performs multi-modal data fusion, classification, and anomaly detection using machine learning models, supported by a reference database (104) storing validated profiles. A user interface (105) provides real-time outputs, while a communication module (106) enables secure data transmission. The invention further discloses a method (200) for integrated data acquisition, processing, and analysis to detect contaminants, adulterants, and quality parameters with improved accuracy, scalability, and reliability across diverse food matrices.
