The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT A system (100) and a method (500) for real-time estimation of compressed gaseous fuel mass in a multi-cylinder vehicle (140) are described. The system (100) comprises a plurality of high-pressure storage cylinders (102) fluidically interconnected via a common high-pressure manifold (104); a tank pressure sensor (106) and a tank temperature sensor (108) arranged on the common high-pressure manifold (104); at least one fuel injector (110); and an electronic control unit (114) with a non-volatile memory (302) storing an effective storage volume and species-specific gas constants. The electronic control unit (114) determines a real-time stored gaseous fuel mass by application of a real-gas equation of state; determines, over an integration window, a cumulative consumed gaseous fuel mass from the at least one fuel injector (110); determines an updated effective storage volume on completion of the integration window; and updates the stored effective storage volume.
