Abstract: A rockfall prediction and alert system for monitoring slope stability in an open-pit mine 1s disclosed. The system includes a data acquisition module (101) configured to collect multi-sensor data including rainfall measurements, tiltmeter readings, vibration signals, soil moisture values, and geographical position coordinates from multiple monitoring locations. An edge pre-processing 10 module (102) validates, time-synchronizes, and nonnalizes the collected sensor data to generate norn1alized monitoring data. A feature extraction module (103) derives time-series features, statistical descriptors, and geoteclmical parameters from the normalized data. A prediction engine (104) comprising a processor and memory executes a trained machine learning model to compute a probabilistic rockfall risk score and determine a categorical risk level for each monitoring 15 location. An alert generation module (105) produces warning notifications when the risk score exceeds a predefined threshold. A visualization and logging module (1 06) updates a graphical monitoring interface displaying location-based risk indicators, prediction trends, and alert records, enabling early detection and proactive risk management.
