MUMBAI, India, Oct. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611115052 A) filed by Noida Institute Of Engineering And Technology Niet on September 25, 2026, for System And Method For Real-Time Shock Prediction In Hypersonic Vehicle Digital Twin Using Sensor Fusion.

Inventors include Dr. Abhishek Pratap Singh; and Dr. Anand Kushwah.

The application for the patent was published on October 23, 2026, under issue no. 43/2026.

Abstract: A system (100) and method for real-time shock prediction in a hypersonic vehicle digital twin using sparse sensor fusion is disclosed. The system (100) comprises a sparse pressure sensor array module (110) with flush-mounted transducers (112), a computational flow solver module (130) advancing an ensemble of flow states by solving the compressible Euler equations, and a latent-space transformation engine (140) mapping each forecast state into level-set functions (144) encoding discontinuity locations and smooth state extensions (146) via regularized optimization (148). An ensemble Kalman filter module (150) performs analysis updates in the latent space with median width-consistency, preserving sharp shock features through hyperbolic tangent reconstruction. An online shock prediction module (160) extracts shock location, strength, and propagation velocity and generates tiered safety alerts (168). A feedback control interface module (180) recommends trajectory adjustments. The system enables real-time monitoring and predictive control of shock-induced aerothermal loads on hypersonic vehicles.
