MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541040946 A) filed by Tejas Networks Limited on April 28, 2025, for System And Method For Reducing Channel State Information Reference Signal Overhead.
Inventors include Sheeba Kumari M; and Sriganesh Rajendran.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system (102) and a method (600) for reducing channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) overhead. The system (102) receives a request from a user equipment (106), where the request is for receiving data from the UE (106). The system (102) determines one or more CSI-RS reference signals to be transmitted to the UE (106) based on the received request. The system (102) subsequently modifies one or more CSI-RS resources and one or more CSI- RS configurations associated with the determined CSI-RS reference signals. The system (102) configures a hybrid CSI-RS framework including full-port CSI-RS with coarse periodicity and subset-port CSI-RS with fine periodicity, and dynamically adapts port subsets, periodicities, and configurations based on channel conditions, UE feedback, or network load.
