Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system (100) for respiratory disease detection. The system (100) comprises a feature extraction circuit (102) configured to extract acoustic features from a filtered audio stream, and a hardware processor (104) communicatively coupled to the feature extraction circuit (102). The hardware processor (104) determines an energy difference between a current frame and a preceding frame of an acoustic input signal, increases a high-pass cutoff frequency upon the determined energy difference exceeding a first energy threshold within the current frame, and decreases a low-pass cutoff frequency upon the determined energy difference falling below a second energy threshold within the current frame, to output the filtered audio stream to the feature extraction circuit (102). The hardware processor (104) generates a respiratory disease detection output indicating one of a healthy state, an abnormal state, and an uncertain state of a subject based on the extracted acoustic features.
