Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a biometric authentication system (100) that is configured to detect and prevent spoofing attacks by analysing biometric input using a trained generative adversarial network capable of distinguishing authentic and artificial biometric data, and statistical validation of biometric input data to reduce spoof acceptance rate. The biometric authentication system (100) comprises a computing device (102) having a processor (104) and a memory (106) for storing one or more instructions executable by the processor (104). The processor (104) is configured to execute plurality of modules (108) for secure identity verification. The plurality of modules (108) comprises a biometric acquisition module (110), a pre-processing module (112), a spoof detection module (114), a noise generation module (116), a secure storage module (118), and a matching module (120). The biometric authentication system (100) prevents reconstruction or misuse of biometric templates in the event of unauthorized access to stored data.
