Abstract: In modern agriculture, the integration of IoT technologies has enabled smart farming solutions that improve productivity and resource management. However, this advancement also introduces critical cybersecurity challenges, particularly Man-in-the- Middle (MITM) attacks, which can compromise the integrity and confidentiality of farm data.To address this challenge, the project proposes a secure smart farming communication system that resists MITM attacks by integrating lightweight TLS for encrypted data transmission on low-power IoT devices and a permissioned blockchain for tamper- proof logging and trusted device access. The architecture includes end-to-end encryption, device authentication, and immutable storage, with simulated attack testing to assess robustness. It ensures low latency and high efficiency, making it suitable for real-world farming, while promoting trust and wider adoption of automated agriculture.
