MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641094083 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on August 03, 2026, for System And Method For Selective Multimodal Enrichment Of Instructional Video Content.

Inventors include R. Kannadasan; and Prabakaran. C.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: A computer-implemented system (102) for selective multimodal enrichment of instructional video content is provided. The system (102) includes a processor (104) and a memory (106) storing executable instructions. The executable instructions configure the system (102) to receive an instructional video and generate a timestamp- associated transcript comprising a plurality of transcript segments. The system (102) further identifies a dependency relationship between at least one demonstrative expression and at least one visual-reference verb to selectively initiate visual enrichment for corresponding transcript segments. Responsive thereto, the system (102) identifies a temporal window, selects a representative frame corresponding to a stable non-transitional visual state, generates a textual description representing instructional visual content, and combines the textual description with the corresponding transcript segment to obtain an enriched textual representation. During operation, the system (102) selectively enriches visually referenced instructional content while reducing unnecessary visual processing and improving semantic representation for downstream information retrieval.
