The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: A system (102) and method (900) for sign language recognition and communication is disclosed. The system includes video capture unit (108) stored in memory and executed by processor (104) to acquire live video frames from camera. Landmark extraction unit (110) detects hand landmarks from each video frame and outputs three-dimensional coordinates for each detected landmark. Feature transformation unit (112) computes geometric feature vector including joint angles calculated from triplets of landmark points and inter-landmark distances between predefined pairs of landmark points. Geometric feature vector is invariant to position, scale, and rotation of hand. Sequencing unit buffers geometric feature vectors across successive video frames to form gesture sequence. Classification unit processes gesture sequence using temporal convolutional network to output predicted gesture label. Sentence construction unit aggregates predicted gesture labels into structured textual output using temporal thresholding and confidence-based filtering. Communication unit transmits structured textual output to remote device via messaging interface.
