MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611109779 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Ropar on September 12, 2026, for System And Method For Split-Packet Interference Mitigation In Uplink Rsma Systems.

Inventors include Sagnik Bhattacharyya; Sam Darshi; and Sudhan Majhi.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for uplink communication in a multi-user environment employing rate-splitting multiple access. The users divided into groups transmitting over orthogonal time slots, wherein at least two user (102, 104) forms a group. A first user device (102) splits an input message into sub- streams and modulates the sub streams using mutually orthogonal representations, whereas a second user device (104) transmits a non-split signal The split sub-streams are power allocated and the transmitted signals are pre-equalised using channel state information A receiver receives a superposed signal and process it according to a selected decoding order, wherein the split streams of the first user device (102) or the non-split signal of the second user device (104) is decoded first. The split streams are separated into orthogonal components, decoded, reconstructed, and subjected to successive interference cancellation. The system further supports counter-based iterative decoding and modulation-, coding-, or polarization-based orthogonality.
