MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611037036 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Roorkee on March 26, 2026, for System And Method For Sram-Puf Enabled Mutual Authentication Between A Server And Iot Device.
Inventors include Gupta, Aranya; Das, Bishnu Prasad; and Manhas, Sanjeev Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system (106) and method (500) for Static Random Access Memory (SRAM)-PUF enabled mutual authentication between a server and an Internet of Things (IoT) device. The system (106) includes a controller communicatively coupled to an authentication server (112). The system includes at least one IoT device (108) with a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) static random access memory (SRAM) integrated circuit, where the authentication server (112) is communicatively coupled to the at least one IoT device (108). The controller is configured to receive a registration request from the at least one and identify a SRAM PUF associated with at least one IoT device (108). The controller is configured to upon successful verification of the at least one IoT device (108) and the authentication server (112), establish a secure session key between the IoT device (108) and the authentication server (112) after the successful mutual authentication.
